UK Pet Food welcomes new Associate Member - Sustainability Energy First
UK Pet Food are delighted to welcome Sustainable Energy First to our Associate Membership.
Sustainable Energy First (SE First) is a leading UK energy and sustainability consultancy, supporting organisations to reduce energy costs, improve operational efficiency and advance their sustainability ambitions. Its services span energy procurement, carbon reporting, compliance management, net zero consultancy and renewable energy solutions.
We are also pleased to confirm that Alex Wilson, Sustainability and Energy Consultant at SE First, will join us at our Annual Convention this November, sharing insights into energy and supply chain volatility and what these mean for cost, risk and long-term business planning.
Their expertise comes at an important time for the pet food sector, as businesses navigate energy costs and market volatility alongside the transition towards net zero. Energy is one of the five focus areas within the pet food industry's Sustainable Ambition 2030.
Michael Bellingham, CEO of UK Pet Food, said:
Energy resilience and the transition towards net zero are increasingly important issues for our sector. We are delighted to welcome Sustainable Energy First to UK Pet Food and look forward to bringing their expertise into our member community as we support businesses to respond to these challenges.
How SE First is supporting organisations through change
SE First already works with companies within the UK pet food sector, providing practical support to manage energy costs, improve resilience and advance their sustainability goals.
Anthony Mayall, Joint Managing Director of Sustainable Energy First, said:
Organisations are facing significant challenges as they balance rising operational pressures, energy market uncertainty and increasingly ambitious sustainability targets. At Sustainable Energy First, we're committed to helping our clients navigate these challenges with confidence, providing practical advice and tailored strategies that deliver long-term value, cost savings and meaningful environmental outcomes.
Supporting access to renewable energy
SE First also offers renewable energy procurement through its Sustainable Energy Consortium (SEC), which brings together more than 100 solar, wind and hydro generators across the UK with a growing network of energy users.
The model gives organisations access to traceable renewable electricity, helping businesses improve energy cost certainty, support carbon reduction objectives and contribute towards their net zero commitments.
We look forward to working with Sustainable Energy First and bringing their expertise and insights to UK Pet Food members.
