Years pet food recall: information for pet owners

We have been following the Years' voluntary recall after reports of sudden bilateral dry eye in dogs.

We know this has been an incredibly worrying and difficult time for affected owners, and our thoughts remain with them and their dogs.

Years has now completed its own investigation, including widespread testing of its food, ingredients and manufacturing processes. Their investigation found no evidence linking Years' food, ingredients or manufacturing processes to the reported cases.

The Food Standards Agency (FSA) has confirmed to UK Pet Food that no evidence of a food safety risk has been identified and that it has no further action planned at this stage.

As the cause of the reported cases of sudden bilateral dry eye has not yet been established, the British Association of Veterinary Ophthalmologists (BrAVO) is continuing its independent investigation into the apparent increase in cases of sudden bilateral dry eye in dogs, regardless of diet.
